Hello all,
I would like to continue to have the ability to comment the MDX expressions in PAW.
I am used to be able to comment MDX expressions in my subsets from the TM1 Architect. Also it is very interesting for the business department.
There are three possibilities:
/* comment */ : you can put this comment at any place in your expression
// or -- : these two options can only be placed at the end of an MDX expression.
In the Subset Editor of PAW the comments are "recognized" in the first step and shown in "green".
By pressing "Commit" the first variant (/* Comment */) disappears. For the other two cases a syntax error message appears.
For the MDX view, it might not be interesting to save MDX expressions comments, because the view can change quickly. But for the subsets themselves it would be useful.
What is your experience with commenting in the subsets?
Thanks in advance.
With best regards,
Vitalij

By clicking the "Post Comment" or "Submit Idea" button, you are agreeing to the IBM Ideas Portal Terms of Use.
Do not place IBM confidential, company confidential, or personal information into any field.
The same would also be needed for the MDX-Editor.
however, the comment is "deleted" as soon as you close and open the editor again.
So it is only there for the "ad-hoc"-view, not for the rest of time.
For View-MDX you can use the comment function now:
// test - comment
--comment
for the Dimension-MDX it is not the case.
// and -- are leading to an error for now.
/* Comment */ will be deleted as soon as you update the mdx.
how is the update for this idea?
