Enhance JCC exception message

Within an application, the failure scenarios are being stored in the database, along with the exception messages. This helps in a meaningful report generation, and determination of the cause of the failure. In this particular case, when we try to insert an user with a duplicate ID (the ID is already present in the DB), following is the exception text returned by DB2 vs Oracle:

ORACLE:

Error inserting User [sc_user1] due to : ORA-00001: unique constraint (IGA_CORE.USER_ERC_PK) violated

DB2:

Error inserting User [sc_user1] due to : DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-803, SQLSTATE=23505, SQLERRMC=1;

The emboldened text is the message returned by the jcc driver.

As we can see, the error message in Oracle is pretty clear about the error, whereas, the exception returned by the DB2 jcc driver is rather cryptic.

The expectation here, for the DB2 jcc driver is to provide a more descriptive message similar to what Oracle does.

Who would benefit from this IDEA? The customer of the IBM IGI product
How should it work?

The expectation here, for the DB2 jcc driver is to provide a more descriptive message similar to what Oracle does.

This will benefit the customer. When the customer generates a report, they will have an error description, which they would be able to comprehend and consume.
