Watson Colorblind Functionality

Currently 1 in 12 men, and 1 in 200 women have some issue with colorblindness. That is about 300 million people world-wide. If a user had a colorblind issue, Watson Discovery is unusable.

I would suggest to the developers that they turn their screens to grayscale and try and use Watson. It is impossible. I would suggest some kind of optional annotation on the side of the document that shows what each section is labeled as. You can still have colors, but you need to be able to distinguish content without color.

In addition this will help everyone else as color is not the only factor to tell one section from another. Think about looking at a document where two sections have a similar shade of blue, at a simple glance it might not be easy to tell which one is which.

My work history include working with an Accessibility team to make sure websites are useable by everyone.
