Affinity support for windows compute servers

We have a mixed Linux/Windows cluster. Unfortunately the affinity string in the resource requirement is not supported on Windows. This leads to several problems:

1. jobs with affinity settings will not be dispatched to windows nodes

2. less performance of applications: our Windows applications have an improved performance with cpu/core bindings.

3. ressource restrictions cannot be applied (e.g. threaded application should be limited to one core)

4. maybe problem on Windows hosts with multiple numa partitions (e.g. hosts with a large number of cores)

 

So it would be greate if LSF supports at last cpu affinity on Windows.

    This request will not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with our multi-year strategy. We are looking for more feedback for this request through activities such as voting. We will update this request in the future.
