Listening to jobstates

We submit our jobs to LSF with the LSF API (C++, lsbatch.h). Our software has to give a feedback to the users about the current state of the jobs. 

For this query we call lsb_readjobinfo for each active job in our list. It can take a long time to collect all informations.
We have created a timer and the queries are started currently every minute. 
 

According to support team, there is no such option in the API. Workaround would be to run "bjobs -o" and parse the results.
 

There should be a better way to read all jobinfos of active jobs. Or a listener could be implemented that would tell me if a job state has changed?
