PAW: Selector Widget search results to limit results to subset elements

To help users search and select the correct dimension members, we create selector widgets using cube dimensions outside of the cube view. This allows easier navigation without the clutter. It allows a user to easily search dimensions on the rows and columns.

The Project dimensions has multiple rollups within the dimension to help users see different consolidations of the data (i.e. Projects consolidated by Type, Project Manager, Director). The base project name is also used as part of a Level 0 element under the project for data input.

The subset used in the selector widget has multiple rollups in it but the base project is only listed once as an official element within the subset.

When doing a search within this subset in the selector widget, it shows the project 3 times and we get the children that use its name.

When doing a search within this subset in the subset editor in PAW, it results in 1 result.

Hello, I am not able to reproduce the issue you are describing. I am attaching a simple dashboard I built with a dimension selector. First I show how Cust06 is part of the dimension and therefore it can be found using set editor. Second, I show that GroupA set is shown on the dashboard that does NOT have cust06 element in it. When I use GroupA set in the filter on the dashboard cust06 element is therefore not found.
