Allow Planning Analytics for Excel to work with Chromium browsers

The current version of PAX uses Internet Explorer 11 as its back-end. This browser is no longer being updated or supported by Microsoft soon. Instead, it is being replaced by the chromium-based Edge browser, now standard on most Windows 10 computers. The old browser is not as stable as the new browsers and will soon be considered insecure. When this happens, even brand new versions of PAX will only be compatible with users that go out of their way to install an obsolete browser. More is expected from a company like IBM.

Updated status to future consideration. The lack of support for IE11 will not impact the in app browser used by Planning Analytics for Excel (it's different than IE11 with different support from MS).

Although this specific idea is not included in the Planning Analytics 2021 roadmap we would like to revisit this idea at a later date.
