Enable the addition of users through the PAW front end.

It is not currently possible to add users to the TM1 DB without resorting to writing TI Scripts when managing the TM1 DB through the PAW front end.

Whilst the TI process itself is fairly straightforward, many TM1 administrators are non technical and there is an expectation that adding clients should be possible through a GUI. This is possible for all other aspects of security and so this appears to be a glaring omission

Hi IBM: Would be good if you sat down with a customer that is PAW cloud, and worked out a solution for fully integrated security across PAW (folders and books) and Database (TM1 security), so we do not have to cobble together a solution that may or may not be the best fit. I would expect in future there is no need to manage control cubes in TM1 database as the security layer in PAW has it covered. I do stress you talk to a few customers and partners though as this could be set up incorrectly through assumptions

I've updated the status to future consider. However, our focus for improved user management in Planning Analytics is not specific to using the TM1 database for authentication. We are currently looking at options to support groups from external authentication sources (e.g LDAP, AD, Oauth) in Planning Analytics Workspace. We are also looking into functionality in Workspace to manage groups and users for the TM1 database based on users and groups in Workspace.

I do not believe we will see this exact request implemented in 2021.
