PAX allows one to search for specific members. if the data source is TM1/PA, then the user can drag the results into an Exploration. If the data source is a Cognos Analytics package, the user cannot drag the results into their crosstab.
This enhancement is to allow users to drag the results of a metadata search against a cognos analytics package into an exploration (rows or columns).
Why is it useful?
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||All users of PAX creating Explorations sourced from Cognos Analytics packages|
How should it work?
User is leveraging a Cognos Analytics DMR package, and needs to include all members whose caption contains the word 'coffee' on the rows of an exploration for analysis. There are thousands of members to search among, in a hierarchy 4 levels deep.
User right-clicks on the hierarchy containing members, chooses metadata search, enters search criteria (contains "coffee"), hits search, multi-selects members from the search results, and drags them to the rows in the Exploration.
|Priority Justification||This was existing functionality in CAFE, which we must replace as it is no longer supported. We cannot proceed with the rollout of PAX to our 400+ users without this functionality.|
