PAW Administration - Databases > Threads - Recommended new location for ellipsis or 'More' icon, where 'Cancel' option is found to right of each thread ID.

In PAW Administration, if you navigate to Databases > Threads, and decide that you want to 'Cancel' a thread, the act of locating the ellipsis, where the 'Cancel' option is located, can be difficult if a user is not already aware of the 'Cancel' option's location. The ellipsis are located to the furthest right location on the page, relative to each threads ID, which 'ID' is the left most column on the page.

It would be helpful to place the ellipsis, or what is sometimes referred to as the 'More' icon (3 horizontally placed dots), immediately to the left of the 'ID' column. the first descriptive column on the page. This will make the ellipsis more noticeable. Another benefit of placing the ellipsis to the left of the 'ID' column is that when you are choosing to 'Cancel' a thread you still see the ID of the thread you wish to cancel, as you perform the action. Presently, to choose the ellipsis you must first scroll to the furthest right location of the page, which in doing so moves the thread ID out of view as it now moves to the left, leaving you possibly to wonder when you eventually locate and click the ellipsis if you are actually cancelling the correct thread. So, if you wanted to double-check that you have chosen the correct thread you must now scroll back to the left, resulting in the ellipsis disappearing from view, as it moves off the screen.

This idea is not under consideration. The overflow menu (three dots icon) location is standard for the Carbon design pattern used in Planning Analytics.

Note that we are making columns resizable and columns can be hidden. We are also implementing an option for shorter row height in the threads table and an option to 'pop-out' the threads UX to it's own window. These enhancements should help usability and the overflow menu will be more obvious to administrators.
