Postgres TEXT data type to VARCHAR at Optim level

Optim version = V11.7.0.1

DB alias = PostgreSQL 11.8

Optim is extracting TEXT data type from postgres database as a LOB data, so unable to proceed with the masking on LOB columns. 

But even if we defined as TEXT data type at database level, the data inside it is of short length characters, e.g, name, address, phone number, city.

So if we get an option in Optim to make this TEXT data type column to consider as a VARCHAR column we can easily proceed with the masking of TEXT data type columns.

    It looks like we can accomodate this, not in the next fixpack (YE 2023) but in the subsequent fixpack, Q2 2024.

    Hi Peter,

    What if the data type in postgres has been definied as TEXT, But the data inside it is of small character length and sensitive??

    In such situation Optim is identifying this TEXT as a LOB data and we can't able to apply the masking policies for LOB data

    Hi, what kind of behavior would you expect for Text to Varchar if the data is too long to fit in Varchar?
