rowchangetimestampoverride as a load parameter

Our customer needs TIMESTAMP GENERATED ALWAYS FOR EACH ROW ON UPDATE AS ROW CHANGE TIMESTAMP NOT NULL columns to be copied to the test environment.

Actually these columns and values disappear during convert for load.

Needed By Yesterday (Let's go already!)

This can be done in Optim actions during the load: Which Optim Actions?

    Hi,

sorry for late answer - lots of urgent work..

    1. This refers to Db2 for LUW

    2. What Optim component is being used? Optim classic

    3. Optim Distributed: The columns and values are in the convert file (CS run). After convert for load (LS run) the columns and values ("generated always" columns) are omitted.

    4. The row change timestamp data are NOT included in the load file. The columns are not loaded according to the loader commands, the columns are generated.

    5. Have you considered using ALTER TABLE commands to change the row change timestamp column from generated always, loading, and changing the columns back to generated always: yes, that is our work around.
How can it be done in Optim ?

    Hi, please clarify:

    1. This refers to Db2 for z/OS, correct? There may be other database platforms with similar syntax.

    2. What Optim component is being used? Is it Optim native z/OS, the ISPF green screen application, or Optim Distributed connecting to Db2 for z/OS?

    3. When you say you are seeing columns and values "disappear" during convert for load, what Convert for LOAD is that-- again, is it Optim native z/OS or Optim Distributed?

    4. What does "disappear" mean? Is the row change timestamp data included in the load file? Are the columns loaded according to the loader commands?

    5. Have you considered using ALTER TABLE commands to change the row change timestamp column from generated always, loading, and changing the columns back to generated always? This can be done in Optim actions during the load, or outside the Optim processing.
