Classification models can usually predict the probabilities per class. One probability number per known class. The model metadata in WML does not include the list of class labels seen in training. This makes it difficult for a scoring application to map predicted probabilities to the corresponding class labels. The application needs to get the labels from a different source, which makes maintenance cumbersome.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||All customers using classification models|
How should it work?
Add the list of class labels to the model metadata.
|Priority Justification||I don't have a customer where this feature is critical right now. Most customers use some external conventions for tracking class labels. But that causes maintenance problems in the long run. Providing class labels seems obvious for an ML tool.|
