For all our ETL transformations across NYL, we use custom SQL to extract the data.
Workaround in POC:
We are using JDBC connector to read data from Redshift Database
Using native redshift connector will definitely improve the performance compared to JDBC connector
# of user impacted:
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||Everyone who uses the AWS Redshift connector in their development|
How should it work?
User should have a privilege to enter Custom SQL in Redshift connector
|Priority Justification||At newyorklife, we are evaluating options to use Datastage on AWS Cloud. While we are performing POC, we noticed that there is a Redshift connector in DS 11.7.1 version whereas it doesn't have the Custom SQL option. As a workaround, we are using JDBC connector and the performance is not up to the mark|
