This is about the DataStage Salesforce Connector.
When building the Salesforce Connector Stage by importing the objects fields from Salesforce using the "Browse Objects" function .
A list of tables in Salesforce will be presented.
One can click the "plus" box next to an object to expand it.
Two rows will be presented:
One can click only the "Fields" relations check box. And leave the "Child Relations" check box unchecked.
One then clicks "Import".
One would expect that only the Fields in the object will be imported.
The actual result is that the Fields for the object are imported, and also the fields in the child relations.
One is then required to delete the child relations manually from the column list.
Why is it useful?
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||Developers wanting to efficiently build DataStage extracts from Salesforce.|
How should it work?
When leaving the "Child Relations" box unchecked, the Fields from the Child Relations are not imported.
|Priority Justification||I view the current behaviour of DataStage when building a Salesforce Connector stage as a bug. In a fast changing Salesforce environment, we are not easily able to construct extracts from a table using the browser oject functioin.|
