We have IBM InfoSphere Platform and thousands of DataStage Jobs. Lot of these jobs use Oracle and ODBC connector Stage to connect to Oracle DBaaS database. These stages are running queries against system tables frequently and causing performance degradation on the database server. Multiple DBAs in our organization has pointed this out. IBM Case # TS003621139. AWR report on the database confirmed this situation.
The problem seems to be that the stage runs the same query from each of the parallel threads (each compute node). Currently there is no workaround and we are forced to increase the number of CPUs/cores on the database server. We have couple of critical projects going live in next month or so and it's important for us to make sure there's no performance issue. So any solution that you can provide will greatly help us.

How should it work?
Oracle and ODBC connector stages should run only minimal number of queries against the system tables. Any duplicate queries should be eliminated wherever possible.
