We have requested IBM to find if there is way to input the DBMS name (as per the below link) in IMAM for ODBC connector.
The answer was NO. This DBMS name is coming the driver and currently this is not exposed to user. But, this option is available for BI bridges/connectors in IMAM. IBM suggested us to open a enhancement request.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||We will be able to access DBMS name in import areas of IMAM to distinguise type of DB technology (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server etc) and reflection of it in IGC assets for metadata management between business metadata and technical metadata|
How should it work?
We have multiple data lakes of our business segments belonging to different DB technologies and their assets need to be imported into IGC via IMAM to maintain data dictionary by data stewards. It will be much beneficial if this functionality is implemented.
We don't have a proposed solution for this problem.
|Priority Justification||High priority of load of assets at enterprise level by DGO team|
|Client Name||Humana Inc|
