The ODBC drivers for Maria DB connectors are not available for zLinux systems. By adding this feature all the users who are trying to connect to Maria DB connectors on Zlinux will be able to connect successfully as it will have the mysql drivers.
Why is it useful?
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||All the users who have Datastage installed on ZLinux systems and who are trying to connect to Maria DB or mysql connector should be benefited|
How should it work?
As we have the VMmysql00.so driver available for all other platforms (RHEL Linux x86, Windows and AIX) just adding the libraries, compiling the whole directory with all the drivers and testing it should work.
|Priority Justification||All of Walmart (Including Financials) is moving to off of Informix to MariaDB as the preferred database platform at Walmart. If MariaDB is not supported on the ZLinux platform, we need to evaluate platforms for migrating the financial team to a platform that does support that database.|
|Customer Name||Walmart Stores Inc|
