Create a real IDS driver for Tableau

Hi,


my customer is a long haul IDS customer who loves it. A few years ago, his team fell in love with Tableau, which resolved many business cases for his company.

Unfortunately, after getting more and more demanding with Tableau functionality, and considering that he had to use the generic Informix ODBC driver, he had some issues caused by limitations of the ODBC Driver.

Result is that he will not be able to resolve his requirements with Tableau on Informix ODBC and he is seriously considering giving up Informix to solve them, and migrate to sqlServer.

So the new idea is to consider buillding a real Driver for Informix on Tableau, instead of having to use a generic ODBC driver which is full of limitations.


To be honest, it is a real frustration to see in Tableau's supported drivers like 50 or more DBMS brands with their tableau driver, and Informix being brilliantly absent of this list...
