Allow dropping of distributions on specific columns; today it is only possible to drop all distributions on a table

We have a large system of many Tbs and as a legacy of Art Kagel's "dostats" we have distributions on all columns of all tables. These distributions are not needed and we have to spend considerable database resources keeping these up to date. We'd prefer it if they weren't there and instead we had a more manageable and tailored set of distributions.

It's hard to get rid of distributions once they are in place because the only supported way of removing a distribution is to drop all of them for a given table and then rebuild the ones you need. On a live system this is undesirable and practically impossible.

It seems to be a simple enhancement to improve the "drop distributions" clause to use specific columns.

    FWIW, you can continue to use dostats without it generating the MEDIUM distributions by using the -I flag which will only generate HIGH distributions on the appropriate index leading columns.

    You can certainly drop distributions for any single column or group of columns:

    update statistics low for table sometable( one_col ) drop distributions;
