Data Studio is by far the best IBM based Db2 tool currently available. It's ability to shell share with other IBM tools and vast number of available Eclipse plugins makes it superior to tools like Data Server Manager or Data Management Console. Unfortunalty Data Studio's Eclipse version is not keept up to date with the rest of the other commonly used IBM tools like IBM Explorer, RDz, RAD and MQ explorer which prevents upgrading of these tools and taking advantage of those tools enhancements.
Why is it useful?
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||All organizations that use Data Studio and that have Db2 cross platform, use Q-replication or develop against Db2.|
How should it work?
Update Data Studio's Eclipse version to the same level as the rest of the IBM Eclipse based tooling, currently Aqua 3.2 (Eclipse Photon v4.8) and continue updating Data Studion Eclipse version when the rest of the IBM tooling get's a newer Eclipse version.
|Priority Justification||Since Data Studio has been neglected for such a long time now in fawor of less usefull tools like DSM and DMC this has now become urgent|
