If an application owner asks if you can verify when or if a specific update was replicated to the target site, there isn't any diagnostic information available to confirm if/when the update was replicated, since the updates applied via a CFC1 writer task are not logged. To avoid recursion the log reader/capture process should be changed to ignore updates replicated via a CFC1 writer task.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||SYSPROG's and IBM support personnel for diagnostic purposes. It would allow the logstream to be printed to confirm if/when an update from the soure file was replicated to the target file.|
How should it work?
Instead of suppressing the logging of an update replicated by a CFC1 writer task to prevent recursion in an active-active 2-way replicated environment, allow CICS to log the updates to the target file's logreplicate logstream. The IIDR/VSAM Source server's log reader/capture process would subsequently ignore these updates read from the replication logstream to prevent data recursion.
|Priority Justification||Currently not possilble to confirm if/when an update is replicated...no target diagnostic information available.|
