The Java Web Start (JWS) code example has improved usability and administration considerably in the enterprise context, especially where applications are updated frequently. Without JWS new versions need to be distributed manually to all users and users that did not receive the latest version cannot connect.
With JWS, the application is always downloaded when starting and, hence, is always up to date.
This should be the default behavior for enterprise deployment and to enable that JWS capability should be included into the product and fully supported.
