Change PWD in Data Sources without redeploying application

When creating a datasource in the Studio tool for the purpose of pulling data from an external relational database to populate a scenario, the system requires that the connection information for the external RDB (including the password) be provided. This means that the password gets encrypted and is stored as part of the deployable unit of the ODME project. If the password for the external RDB is then changed, as ours are required to be on a regular basis, this also requires that the new password be put into the ODME project via the Studio tool and the project must be redeployed or it will not be able to pull the scenario data (ie, it will not work). Since our password change process is already a day-long affair due to the number of passwords that have to be changed, and the number of people involved, adding additional overhead in terms of rebuilding and redeploying our ODME projects is a daunting proposal.

Therefore, I would like to request that a mechanism be put into place to allow the passwords for the data sources to be stored externally to the project deployables and be made modifiable in a simple way. One way to accomplish this might be to allow a datasource to be defined in terms of a WebSphere datasource instead of embedding all of the connection information into each project.
