When using the ISPF interface of Query Monitor to update a QM profile, it is currently very difficult for a user to determine whether the profile was actually updated (and saved) or not as a result of their actions.
The only indication that the user currently has to know what happened to the profile, is to notice whether the Update timestamp on the ISPF panel has changed or not.
Every other IBM product that I have worked with always provides a confirmation or informational type of message to inform the user of the result of their action. QM should do the same thing.
This idea is a result of Support Case TS004285961, as requested by QM Support.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||Everyone that updates a QM profile|
How should it work?
When using the ISPF interface of Query Monitor to update a QM profile, if the actions of the user result in an update of the QM profile, then an informational message should be displayed to make the user aware of his action. Likewise, if the actions of the user result in NO update of the QM profile, then an informational message should also be displayed.
|Priority Justification||There is currently no message whatsoever that informs the user as to whether the profile was updated (and saved) or not. The only indication the user has to know what happened, is to notice whether the Update timestamp changed or not.|
