When you use OMPE batch reporting you can do filtering on ACE .
However the ACE info is not stored in the FILE output, so it cannot be loaded into the PDB tables and CSV files.
As an ACE can only run one tran at a time, having the ACE can help to understand if a tran ran on the same thread as another one or not. Having this info will also allow to determine the number of concurrent threads at any one point in time, something that I am unable to determine otherwise (as the LUWID or any other identifier will not allow you to tell if two tran ran one after another (on the same thread) or in parallel (using different threads (ACEs).
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||Everybody doing Db2 performance analysis usuing accounting information|
How should it work?
The ACE is in the Db2 standard header DSNDQWHS , field QWHSACE, so it is present in every trace record.
As you can filter on it for certain OMPE reports it must be collected and stored in the 'internal structures' that OMPE uses. It is stored in the DPMOUT DD . I verified that .
So I hope it is is easy to add to the ACCOUNTING FILE output (so the performance database tables and CSV files can pick up this info as well)
