DOE - DDL protection issue

Protection of Master DDL (tables etc.) owned by application teams and how DOE can successfully and fully restrict changes to only by ‘owners’ of those objects.

Example:

•A DOE Team is created e.g. ABC, assigned to an Environment and ABC team members added to the Team.

•DBA's create the "ABC" DOE Master on DB2 subsystem e.g. ABCZRDOE, adding all ABC owned objects to that new Master using the extracted DDL.

•DBA's create a ABC Application and add all the DB2 objects from the ABCZRDOE Master - thus making ABC 'Home owners' of all ABC owned objects.

Note - ABC application has 1000's of objects - tables, indexes, tablespaces, Views, Aliases etc.

•ABC team members ideally can then create Instances from their Application and work on ABC owned objects pulling in objects from other Applications

(e.g. CUD tables needed for ABC_CUD_* Views) as and when needed. As long as the CUD* objects also have their own Home owning Application then the ABC team will be unable to change them as they are not the ‘owners’ of them.
