ADM tools - saving reports

We converted from CA tools to IBM tools, and one of the areas that is not up tp par is ability to save a report into a dataset. Example - I can produce a multi-page Drop-Impact report, but there is no command that allows me to save it into a dataset. It is important that there is a way, consistent between different panels, that we can use to direct reports into datasets. Example - it works fine when we display database objects - command REP allows us to direct the report into a dataset. But the same command doesn't work for Drop-Impact reports.

So an online command that can be executed from any panel of 'DB2 system catalog' tool and allow us to direct the report into a dataset is what we need to work more productively.

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. While we view all the enhancement requests we receive as valuable and we would like to implement all of them, in an effort to have maximum transparency we are closing the ones that don’t currently appear on our two year product plan. This is not to say that these enhancements may not still be implemented at some point in the future, as we constantly evaluate our requirements on the basis of customer demand and technical impact and try to deliver maximum value to our customers. We appreciate your feedback and would be happy to discuss your enhancement requests further.

Hi, this request is specifically about the DB2 Administration Tool of DB2 Tools.

Many functions of ADM/DB2 Tools can produce multi-page results.

Sometimes, we can use the REPORT function to copy the results to a pre-defined and allocated print dataset.

Sometimes, we are put into TSO EDIT mode so we can save the results using tso create command.

But sometimes, as in the DROP IMPACT function, DB2 Tools does not provide a method to save/print the results.

What we would like is a consistent method to save and/or print the results of every function in ADM/DB2 Tools.

    Thanks, Mary
