We recently migrated from BMC Utilities for Db2 to IBM Utilities. One feature that is sorely missed is that when the BMC Utilities would fail to drain because other processes had a claim on the object, BMC Utilities would perform a display with claimers on the affected objects for research later.
This would be extremely helpful for much of our current processing, where a main driver job will kick off several child jobs with multiple loads stacked on top of each other. If there are failures in the child jobs, we won't be alerted until control passes back to the main driver job.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||Anyone trying to research these contention issues in a data sharing environment.|
|Priority Justification||This should help greatly with researching these types of issues after the fact.|
|Client Name||Principal Financial Group|
How should it work?
When a utility fails to be able to obtain a drain (Reason 00C200EC), automatically do a display with claimers on the object for which a drain could not be performed.
