We are currently depending on vendor software that has the capability of cancelling DB2 threads when entering the switch phase of a load. This capability has saved the application team hundreds of incident tickets nightly as they perform loads daily.
Why is it useful?
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||The application team and the DBA's|
How should it work?
When entering the switch phase of the load, cancel any threads holding the table. Similar to the FORCE command you currently have available with REORG.
|Priority Justification||Our organization is currently in contract negotiation with vendor and it appears we will not be renewing.|
|Customer Name||Optum Technology|
