Create partitioned LOBs to be used with PBR AND PBG tables

If you create a PBR with a lob column you must create a uniquely named LOB table in support of each PBR partition.  Consider  table with 550 parts.

Creation of each LOB TS/Table by part is time consuming and error prone.  Verification that all parts are correctly defined at later point is also time consuming.  Creating the LOB object once and just adding an additional part which is done on base TS for PBR and PBG simplifies the whole process at both a conceptual and technical level.

PBG also growth is automatically created; however, this also creates a generated TS, table, and index names which makes association to the supported object impossible without further consulting the DB2 catalog for each object.  Ultimately this clutters the DB2 catalog with meaningless objects.

    Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request.

    After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming product deliverable because it is not consistent with the product direction. We have no plans to modify LOB tablespaces to be partitioned.

    As a consequence we will not be implementing this request.

    We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team.  We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.
