Indexing on log

We have tremendous log records populated on production system everyday. But logs are stored in log dataset simply sorted by timestamps even they are for different application events, system events and so on. That leads to bad log reading performance. Is it possible to add index support on log not only based on timeframe but also on events or different purpose. It will help a lot, especially, we can leverage the legancy  log records to do some AI work, so that we don't need to wait for a while to collect data for new AI training.
