DELETE entry in SYSCOPY based on when the image copy dataset is not found in the ICF catalog

Db2 Recover or Db2 Log Analysis tool could get an error referring to a Image Copy dataset that not longer exists.
The above could happen when there is a misalignment between the Db2 catalog information (syscopy) and ICF catalog.

Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request.

There are no plans to support some form of daemon in Db2 to validate the existence of image copies that are registered in SYSCOPY. However, a requirement should be opened for Recovery Expert in the IBM Db2 tools space because it is a known requirement to have a process that validates recoverability.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team.  We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component  to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team
