DB2 Migration z/OSMF Workflow Usability / Flexibility

The current z/OSMF workflows delivered with DB2 z/OS version 11 and 12 contain the basic installation process as defined in the manual. Most customers add, delete, reorder or customize steps when they execute a DB2 migration. In order to make the z/OSMF workflows more usable the following items need to be considered to be added to the functionality:
- Ability to assign a specific user for each step of install/migrate workflow (z/OSMF runAsUser tag)
-Ability to customize JOBCARD to be used with the workflows.
-Ability to select and define sequence of the jobs to be executed within the workflow.
-Ability to add jobs or add a variable to the workflow.
-Ability to interrupt and resume the workflow.

We are marking this Idea as SHIPPED. However, as this idea lists several conditions, please see the notes below as some of items listed depend on other IBM product's enhancement.

-Ability to assign a specific user for each step of install/migrate workflow (z/OSMF runAsUser tag)

=> Support added under CP&M - All Db2 provisioning services already exploit this feature

=> Traditional Db2 migration or install workflow cannot add this feature until z/OSMF team add support for it. Please open requirement against z/OSMF or

Create a CP&M template for migration workflow and use runAsUser function to assign steps to individual users.

-Ability to customize JOBCARD to be used with the workflows.

=> Db2 development depends on the z/OSMF team to add this support. Currently it is only possible to assign unique job name to each step by providing a "//jobname JOB" statement in JCL. There is nothing Db2 can do on this. Please open requirement against z/OSMF.

-Ability to select and define sequence of the jobs to be executed within the workflow.

=> Support added under CP&M and Workflow Editor. We demonstrated this capability to your team when was still under development, but it is already available under CP&M.

-Ability to add jobs or add a variable to the workflow.

=> There is support in CP&M and Workflow Editor to modify the artifacts. Hopefully it does everything that Steve expects, otherwise we will need to hear back from him once he has evaluated this feature.

-Ability to interrupt and resume the workflow.

=> I put this requirement to z/OSMF team on your behalf because it was a road block for you. The support is now available under CP&M and Workflow Editor.

Please note, that Db2 provisioning workflows do not use this feature because our objective is total automation. However, Customer can edit and add pause/resume in any.
