Thank you for your suggestion. While current system agent’s behavior based on the IIPHONORPRIORITY is not perfect solution, it is done to protect Db2 subsystem. The delay from system agents such as a log write engine could cause the significant impact to Db2 subsystem. We have considered and experimented the alternate solutions such as dynamically switching the behavior based on zIIP usage, it is concluded very difficult to achieve seamless switch without impacting performance and product stability. If the concern is to have non-Db2 zIIP eligible workloads, such as java or spark based applications to consume GP due to zIIP-help function, you may want to consider to use service class level of HONOR priority for these workloads.
