Add timestamp to all -DISPLAY command outputs

More and more companies are using multiple DISPLAY commands to track for problems or usage statistics etc. The problem is that the TIMESTAMP when the command was issued is not in the output (apart from DISPLAY BLOCKERS) It would be really good to simply add it to the end of the first line.

As an example here's a -DISPLAY GROUP output:

DSN7100I -DD10 DSN7GCMD

*** BEGIN DISPLAY OF GROUP(........) CATALOG LEVEL(V13R1M504)

to look like:

DSN7100I -DD10 DSN7GCMD TIMESTAMP 2023-12-20-13.08.39.480919

*** BEGIN DISPLAY OF GROUP(........) CATALOG LEVEL(V13R1M504)

and another with -DISPLAY BUFFERPOOL(BP0) output :

DSNB401I -DD10 BUFFERPOOL NAME BP0, BUFFERPOOL ID 0, USE COUNT 888

DSNB402I -DD10 BUFFER POOL SIZE = 20000 BUFFERS AUTOSIZE = NO

to look like:

DSNB401I -DD10 BUFFERPOOL NAME BP0, BUFFERPOOL ID 0, USE COUNT 888
TIMESTAMP 2023-12-20-13.08.42.124011
DSNB402I -DD10 BUFFER POOL SIZE = 20000 BUFFERS AUTOSIZE = NO

So at the end of line if it fits within the normal width otherwise on a new line.

This small change would greatly ease the checking and cross referencing of lots of different command outputs without having to also look in the syslog/mstrlog or sysout!

Dear Roy, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our Db2 for z/OS engineering team reviewed it and determined this would be of great customer impact. Command output change is an incompatible change because tools, stored procedures can be scanning the output. Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be accepting this idea.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS team
