Allow Load To Do Inline Image Copies Of LOB & XML Tablespaces

We have users running the Load utility and we require them to make inline image copies during the Load.

We grant these users the LOAD database privilege so they can do loads with inline image copies.

We don't grant these users the IMAGCOPY database privilege because we don't want these users to be authorized to run Modify Recovery.

Everything works great until the user does a Load of a table that is associated with a LOB table space. When the user tries to do an inline copy of the LOB table space during the Load of the base table, the copy is unsuccessful with this message: FUNCTION INLINE COPY IS NOT SUPPORTED FOR LOB OR XML TABLE SPACES. And, the user cannot run a stand alone Copy utility because they do not have the IMAGCOPY database privilege.

Proposed Remedies:

A) Change the Load utility to allow inline copies of LOB and XML table spaces.

B) Allow a user to run Copy on a database that they have the LOAD database privilege on.

C) Create a new IMAGCOPYO (image copy only) database privilege that allows a user run Copy but does allow a user to run Modify Recovery.
