REBIND PLAN break-in / phase-in Merged

Having to force the business to accept service outages to bring application DB2 packages and plans up to the current operating software level has been a painful aspect of DB2 upgrades for many years.

This also meant that the adoption/rollout of software upgrades is often delayed due to organisational politics and the operational goal of near-zero operational outage.

Rebind package activity has had extra phase-in functionality added to make package upgrade far less of an issue.

Rebind plan still needs 24hr actively used plans to be stopped – so we are still dependent on obtaining service outage for plan rebind activity.

When will plan rebind have similar functionality allow a ‘break-in’ and allow the plan to be upgraded?
