The compression dictionary date created is currently not available to help identify the age of the dictionary. The age would also help to identify dictionaries create before upgrading to the latest release.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||The DBA team would want to know when dictionaries are from previous release or just old enough to consider recreating. This would be part of the routines that create REORG parameters to not include KEEP DICTIONARY.|
How should it work?
A new date column would be created on SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART. When a compression dictionary is created the column is updated. The column can be used to select old compression dictionaries that might benefit by being recreated.
|Priority Justification||This is not a show stopper for helpful if can be included in a future maintenance release.|
