Log volume SYSUTILX

We have very large LOB objects (e.g. nnTBs).  Due to the change (delete/insert/update) pattern of our applications, we have to use incremental image copies (IIC) very often to ensure recoverability for these objects.

IIC for LOB objects generate lots of log records, which has a negative impact for reading the log during recovery. This "lots of log records" is due to the fact that IIC writes periodically status information to SYSUTILX, which are logged as SYSUTILX is changed. This status information is written for IIC restart purpose.

A reduction of the SYSUTILX log records would be very important for us.

Additional info: We do not use restart for the COPY utility.  A new COPY utility parameter is an acceptable solution for us.

For this purpose case TS002525616 was opened.
