New Redhat ipcmni_extend setting Recommendation in the DB2 Infocentre

Hello, Db2 Luw seems to be a victum of Redhat change https://access.redhat.com/solutions/4968021

The change is effective of Redhat 7.8+, where you need to set ipcmni_extend to allow db2 to request more then 32k of MSGMNI as per https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEPGG_11.5.0/com.ibm.db2.luw.qb.server.doc/doc/t0008238.html.

to recommend setting ipcmni_extend setting like vm.overcommit_memory=0

How should it work?

1) Solution to Problem .

IBM InfoCentre to recommend setting

$ su -

$grubby –grub2 –args="ipcmni_extend" –update-kernel=$(grubby –default-kernel)

$grubby –info=$(grubby –default-kernel)|grep args

# Check for ipcmni_extend

Reboot server

$su -

$grubby –info=$(grubby –default-kernel)|grep args

# Check for ipcmni_extend.

Note, changing grubby on Redhat 8+ is different .
