Often times, users would like to get a single view report on the application handles/ids, the corresponding process id and application usage of sys or user temp spaces and db2 does not have one monitoring table function to accomplish this. Users need to run several queries using db2pd, snapshot monitoring or admin view queries to get temp space usage. and this does not provide point in time view.
Users should be able to run one command and get the information they are looking for.
|Who would benefit from this IDEA?||Customers/DBAs would use this reporting to understand the temp space usage per application and using application details to deduce more analysis on the application.|
How should it work?
we should create a monitoring table function at the database level that users can run either passing db name with application handle or without application handle, and it would return, the time the application acquired temp space usage, the type of temp space used, the used size, the available size, the container paths along with application handle, app id and PID of the application, user id.
