Oracle-style isolation level 3 (multi-version read consistency) locking.(RIMS)

A description of Oracle's 'multi-version read consistency' can be found here: http://www.ss64.com/orasyntax/10locking.html. Even DB2's most liberal CS isolation is more strict then this. [update 04-27-2009]: Support for isolation level 3 queries that do not require a table-level lock or readers blocking writers - Oracle style reads from logs. This feature is not whats coming in Cobra (v97). IBM is providing a concurrency semantics in Cobra (v97) but not a RR consistent read because data can change after the query starts; today we use a combination of replication and lock table fast due to no row locks; new version of MS SQL, PostgreSQL also support this required for CRM; SAP uses its own internal lock manager because they use UR; (follow-up with greater detail on spec)

For sure this will bring a huge concurrence improvement and thus performance gain for DB2.
