IBM Data and AI Ideas Portal for Customers

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data & AI organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

DMC requirement for improved reporting of metric data for PureScale members

In the current DMC release, DMC aggregates resource usage (for example, CPU) for all members of PureScale connections.

The request is to improve DMC to show monitoring metrics values per member with the ability to drill down per database connection.

On the DMC HOME page, when monitoring a Db2 pureScale cluster currently all the members display the same metrics. As an example, the CPU usage displayed is the same number on host 1, host 2 and host 3 even in a scenario where CPU utilization is not evenly balanced across the member hosts and there is no way to determine which individual database is consuming the resource.

Example scenario: a pureScale cluster has multiple databases and the DMC Home Page reports an aggregate 90% of CPU utilization. It is unlikely that the database connections across all hosts have the same CPU usage.  The current metrics reported on the DMC Home Page do not provide a way to determine the individual member balance or which database in the pureScale cluster is causing the Total/Host CPU to reach 90%. Users would get more value if the CPU usage was tracked for each database connection on each member.

This is very necessary for high cpu utilization troubleshooting.
