Request for SKIP LOCKED DATA for DB2 LUW

Our products are implemented in all 3 relational databases. We are converting the current application level lock handling into database level locks. In one scenario, the application looks to fail when it is not able to get the required lock in the database.

Both Oracle and SQL SERVER have the NOWAIT clause on the SELECT FOR UPDATE, in-case there is a lock held by other sessions, they terminate. The application is trying to mimic this scenario and I am unable to implement a equivalent at all in DB2.

I had a look at the SKIP LOCKED DATA option, but this is only available in the DB2 ZOS. It will help to get the SKIP LOCKED DATA clause in DB2 LUW, with this our application will be in a place to use result from this to proceed forward.

Please consider this important feature for DB2 LUW, the absence of SKIP LOCKED DATA results for sure in huge performance issues and architecture design modification at many places with modern architectures. At least for systems that make use of this feature on Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL it is a blocker to support DB2 LUW as well.
