DB2 Automation Utility to convert from IBM RACF DB2 External Security to IBM DB2 Internal Security.

We are requesting a DB2 Automation Utility to convert from IBM RACF DB2 External Security to IBM DB2 Internal Security. This utility must be able to do the reverse of the RACF/DB2 Conversion Utility that was used to convert data in DB2 Internal Security Catalog Tables to RACF Permit commands that was used to update RACF DB2 External Security Classes.

The sample RACF/DB2 Conversion Utility was stored at URL address below:

http://www.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/features/racf/downloads/racfdb2r.html

We found a copy at URL address below:

ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/eserver/zseries/zos/racf/racfdb2/

Details about sample RACF/DB2 Conversion Utility is documented in chapter 9.3.6 in IBM Redbook below:

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg247959.pdf

This DB2 Automation Utility should be written to read the RACF database or unload records from the RACF database for all RACF DB2 External Security General Resource Classes and convert data from those classes into DB2 Grant commands to be use to update DB2 Internal Security.

    Dear Alfonza,

Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request. After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming product deliverable because the request has a high implementation cost with a low relative value. Consequently, we will not be implementing this request.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team
