Kerberos / SSL conflict

When Kerberos is enabled for users it blocks the usage of SSL for users that have local authentication.

This is a bug that should be fixed but IBM persists this is working as designed so placing this here as an enhancement request.

Enabling kerberos should in no way affect users with local authentication and those should be able to use SSL so that data traffic is encrypted.

Maybe fooling around with decreasing SSL requirements would do the trick for customer... Yet it is also lowering security in entire ecosystem (workstation, domain etc.) which could affect everything and in high security demand (who else request for SSL ;) ) - cure migt be worse than desase.

I have did testing once on my home lab with attempt of SSL+Kerberos. When SSL is enabled it automatically enforce all traffic to be encrypted and "CA'ed" - including authentication. With kerberos on Netezza it enforces CA authority on AD/Kerberos server to be trusted (by external vendor). So in short: System must be able to communicate with external world to verify cert: otherwise it treat it as "self signed". Probably CA server in such case is an option - but needs to be checked whether certs are not self-signed and not internal sign. Also such CA would need to be external CA...

Not sure if there is an option in NPS to split authentication/encryption (encryption start as first) into two different paths - and which one should be started negotation (so from some hosts use one encryption from everything else another: would be pretty much impossible and first time I hear of solution as such).
