We have to store data from different IBM i Systems from several countries, with diffent local encodings (DE/AT = CCSID 273, NO = CCSID 277, BE = 500, ...) into one target schema. Therefore we descided to use for character fields the data type NCHAR/GRAPHIC (CCSID 1200 - UTF-16).
We recognize that the refresh performance is very poor. E.g for a spefic table we need for the refresh against a PDA Database only 16 sec. On IBM i the refresh takes around 15 minutes.
The performance issue results in an inadequate refresh time for our subscriptions and also an inadequate CPU utilisation during mirroring.
Further detail are documented in Support Case TS005163247.

Hi Pavendra,
your statement is different from the support answer. IIDR works with multibyte data with PDA as target without any issue. But IBM Support stated that this is not supported on IBM i plattform. Could you please clearify this with the Support Team, because there are different statements?
Best Regards,
Udo
IBM update.
After review, we understand this issue to be a performance (latency) concern since the software does provide support for replication of multibyte data.
We advise that the best option for obtaining help on the performance concern is to work with our support team via a support ticket (either reopen the previous one or open a new one). Appropriate diagnostics can be gathered, troubleshooting done etc.
