Kafka Refresh with Commit Stream Parameter should check Commit Stream Topic Existence at Beginning

Problem Description:

Prerequisite:

  • Kafka Instance Parameter kafka_bookmark_storage_type = COMMITSTREAMTOPIC

  • Kafka topic auto creation is off/deactivated

  • New Subscription with new mappings is created

  • Target Topics are created

  • Issue: Commit Stream Topic is NOT created

Problem: When performing a Refresh of the subscription the first topic is refreshed, but when IIDR tries to write to the commit stream topic after that, it fails because the commit streams does not exist yet.

Result: Inconsistent state -> target topic has an initial load, but the corresponding entry in the commit stream topic is missing.

Workaround: Create the commit stream topic, recreate/clear the target topic and perform an initial load again.
