User Defined SQL within Report Studio access

Hi,

Is it possible to include in future versions of Cognos the ability to allow specific users only access to read and execute report studio reports containing User Defined SQL but deny these users write access to the User defined SQL.

Currently if a user, "everyone" for example, has been denied access to use (read/write) "user defined SQL", they
can no longer create reports using user defined SQL and they also cannot view existing reports with user defined SQL.

Unfortunately, this is a software feature not a permission which can only be turned off or on.

Currently, you cannot prevent users from connecting to an external data source. However again, due to the fact that "user defined SQL"
is a feature you can either allow users to read/write "user defined SQL" or disable the read/write capabilities.

Please let me know if this software feature can be turned on for read and turned off for write for certain users and for admin users the ability to read / write when using User Defined SQL.

I logged PMR 77909,001,754 to see if the above is possible and was told it was not at present and to log this as an enhancement.

Kind Regards,
Christina.
